Next up was microbeads! I wanted to try out the "Caviar" trend. I found this set of microbeads at Michaels for 50% off. It had 8 different colors in the mulitpack for a final price of $3.50. Much cheaper than the Ciate version....
You can attach these a number of ways... foil glue, nail glue, or still wet topcoat. You would probably get the best wear out of nail glue. When I tested these I had them coming off left and right after just 1 hour of wear. I just used still wet Seche Vite though.
I'm wearing China Glaze Spontaneous btw.
I prefer this as just an accent nail and not an entire mani. But that's just my opinion. :)
I like is as both an accent and a full manicure but I couldn't imagine doing it on my nails. The longevity of it is ridiculous :P
ReplyDeleteI love the colours you chose.
Looks great as an accent nail :)
ReplyDeleteI agree that the accent nail would be enough for me....very pretty!!
ReplyDeleteI love the purple polish!! :)
ReplyDeleteI definitely like this trend better as an accent nail versus the whole nail. I still don't think I'd wear it - doesn't seem to wearable or practical to me!
ReplyDeleteI definitely like it more for an accent than for a full manicure but I just cant' do the 3-D thing on myself! I love seeing pics though and the light purple is a great look for it!
ReplyDeleteGreat!
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE♥♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteLOVE!
ReplyDeleteLove how you just did the accent finger :) super cute
ReplyDeletevery pretty color! so happy you did your caviar nails today and helped with "sticking it to the man". mine is up too if you want to check it out. (:
ReplyDeleteThe beads would be off in two seconds on me. I'm a picker, and I work as a bartender, which is always chipping my polish without any 3D stuff...
ReplyDeleteBut I do wonder if it would be more durable with a topcoat on over the beads. It might lose a little of the eggy look, but be less prone to damage... I might have to break down and try it.
I love how it looks on others but I definitely cant keep these on my own. Haha.
ReplyDeletelovely color of beads, i only have simple silver ones ... yet :-P
ReplyDeleteLovely!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so fun for a special night/day event. I read one blogger was contacted by Ciate who told her in writing that they saw she was using Caviar mani and that they were trademarking that term so she could not use it! I think we all need to boycott Ciate! That is just so lame. If they wanted to trademark something, they should have come up with a name that was not already out there being used for this nail art form over the past year or even more if you look at some of the high end NY Fashion shoots.
ReplyDeleteThe color choices on this are fabulous! I've mostly seen this done in black, but i love the purples.
ReplyDeletei love this look!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic version of those kaviar nails ^^ I think this colour is very spring and romantic ^^
ReplyDeleteI like these! I don't think I could handle a full mani of them, but as an accent it's really cute.
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit dubious to pay so much for something that lasts for very little time so this is the perfect alternative!

Looks great!
ReplyDeleteVery cute!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I think the accent nail looks better. All the nails covered in beads looks a bit overwhelming to me.
